Our first project for our hometown club 1. FC Köln set the tone for everything that followed. The Hummel Retro Collection needed a campaign that felt young, bold and unmistakably Kölsch, so WEWEREKIDS stepped in as the full service video production partner. We shaped the creative idea, planned the entire shoot and delivered a fashion film that moves with urban energy and confident style. Shot across the city and built around a cast that reflects its spirit, the film brings the Retro Collection to life with rhythm, colour and attitude. This collaboration marked the beginning of our creative partnership with the FC and set a benchmark for fashion film production in Cologne.

From the first call to the final shot we had only two weeks. We refined the idea, cast the faces, choreographed movement and shaped the visual tone of the campaign. With our strong network of creatives we turned the Hummel Retro Collection into a film that connected instantly with the younger audience the brand wanted to reach. It became a clear showcase for fashion film production in Cologne.

The Hummel Retro Collection targets a young and style driven audience, so the creative direction needed to feel fresh and effortless. WEWEREKIDS developed a summer vibe that blends the energy of Cologne with a clean fashion aesthetic. We focused on colour, movement and personality, creating a visual language that let the pieces speak for themselves. Our team aligned strategy, storytelling and production planning into one approach that worked across film, social media and behind the scenes content. The speed of the project showed what our full service structure is built for. When creative direction, production and post sit in one house, ideas travel faster and execution stays consistent. The final campaign film reflects exactly that rhythm.

We filmed where Cologne feels most alive. Much of the campaign was shot in our own backyard in the Belgian Quarter where street corners, small squares and busy alleys gave the film its natural pulse. Additional scenes in Ehrenfeld and near the Müngersdorfer Stadium added contrast and scale. These areas carry a visual identity that matches the Retro Collection perfectly. They are young, energetic and unmistakably local. As a video production company in Cologne we know how to use real spaces to support brand storytelling. Locations are not just backgrounds. They set tone, authenticity and texture. For this film they grounded the concept in the culture that inspired the collection in the first place.

The cast shaped the entire film. We brought together dancers, models, a choreographer and a BMX pro who matched the brand’s personality and movement style. Every person in the film brought something real and unscripted which gave the project its natural energy. Two weeks of preparation meant our production approach had to be sharp, flexible and instinctive. We went for a run and gun style that gave us speed without losing control. Our team has decades of combined experience in fast moving film environments and that confidence shaped the entire shoot. We moved through locations quickly, kept the crew tight and captured moments that felt spontaneous and alive. This approach works when creative planning is strong and the camera team knows how to translate instinct into clean cinematic images. Post production is where the film found its pulse. Our music team composed an original track that set the mood, while our editors shaped the story with fast cuts, smooth transitions and a clear sense of rhythm. We delivered the full master in one and a half weeks. It looked polished enough for stadium screens and fast enough for social media. The finished film ran for months inside RheinEnergieStadion in front of forty six thousand fans and reached a wide online audience. Seeing live reactions confirmed what we built behind the scenes. The film landed because it felt young, confident and true to the spirit of the club. It showed that fashion can tell a story and that a well crafted brand film can live across platforms without losing impact. For us this project marked a milestone. It proved that high quality video production in Cologne can shape how fans see their club and how fashion connects with culture. The collaboration with 1. FC Köln and Hummel laid the foundation for future campaigns that carry the same energy.
