The idea was to capture the atmosphere of an historic moment while it was unfolding. Instead of analysing events, we focused on pure emotion and immediate experience. The goal was to preserve the feeling of 2020 without filters and to archive a time that marked everyone in a different way.
The year brought a global standstill. Borders closed, routines dissolved, streets emptied and uncertainty shaped daily life. Without assigning blame or seeking explanations, the film observes how these abrupt changes affected people across different backgrounds and environments.
Producing during the early pandemic demanded flexibility, distance and constant adaptation. Locations had to be chosen with care, crews remained minimal and communication shifted entirely. These challenges shaped a quiet, intimate visual language that matched the tone of the moment.
The edit follows an untraditional structure, allowing sound and layered imagery to drift, collide and breathe. Visual fragments, ambient recordings and spoken memories blend together to recreate the emotional rhythm of a year that felt disjointed and unreal.
There is no narrator. The people themselves guide the story. Their voices, pauses and personal reflections form the heart of the film. By letting them speak freely, the narrative becomes honest, vulnerable and deeply human.
The documentary serves as a preserved moment in time. It captures how it felt to live through the first lockdowns and protects these memories from fading. It stands as a reminder of a chapter that changed us, recorded exactly as it was experienced.
