Carnival is not a single event. It is a state of mind. We wanted to create a concept every carnival lover can relate to, whether long-time local or first-time participant. Everyone remembers that one legendary carnival house party that topped everything before and after. That exact feeling, combined with the massive hit “Karnevalsmaus”, became the core of the video. One night turns into the next, the fun never really stops. During carnival season, celebration becomes a beautifully wild loop, and that ongoing momentum is what the video is built around. What began as a local carnival anthem evolved into a chart-topping national moment, proving that authenticity can scale far beyond its origin.
Druckluft is a brass band from Bonn. Alongside their regular appearances during Cologne’s carnival season, the band performs at festivals all across Germany. Originally founded as a school band, Druckluft has grown significantly over the years. With “Karnevalsmaus”, the band reached No. 1 in the official German single charts, marking a historic milestone for carnival music. On New Year’s Eve 2025/26, they performed in front of more than 4.5 million viewers on ARD together with Florian Silbereisen. The song also reached the Top 3 of the Spotify streaming charts.
The music video includes selected shots that were enhanced and refined using AI tools, without pushing the band’s budget beyond its limits. We see AI hybrid models as a client-friendly and cost-efficient way to elevate visual concepts and fine-tune productions. Always supportive, never overpowering, and always serving the idea. As the song gained nationwide traction and eventually reached No. 1 in the German charts, the scalable and efficient production approach proved its value.
Cologne carnival is more than a seasonal event. It is deeply rooted in the culture and identity of the region. For outsiders, it can be hard to fully understand. For locals, it is part of everyday life. Community, music, dance and a shared sense of freedom define the experience. With “Karnevalsmaus” reaching No. 1 nationwide, that spirit resonated far beyond Cologne and once again demonstrated the cultural power of carnival.
Druckluft gave us full creative freedom for both concept and execution. From the initial idea to the final delivery, the entire production was handled by WEWEREKIDS. Concept development, production, postproduction and final rollout were all managed in-house. One team, one vision, one consistent result.
Music videos are often said to be a dying format. We strongly disagree. Few creative formats offer this much freedom to express identity, energy and skill. Visualising music allows emotions to grow and gives audiences another way to experience a song. When a video accompanies a track that climbs from No. 35 to No. 1 in the official German charts, the format speaks for itself. The “Karnevalsmaus” music video also entered the Top 10 of the most streamed music videos on YouTube in Germany, further underlining the continued relevance of the format.
